This hip shindig is going down the weekend of August 24th-25th in Bellport, New York. Rehearsal drinks are scheduled for Friday, the 24th at Painters Restaurant from 6-9pm and the wedding itself will be on Saturday the 25th at 29 South Brewster Lane starting at 5pm.
A note about footwear: While the cocktails, dinner and dancing will go down on the patio near the house, weather permitting (fingers crossed) the ceremony itself is going to take place on the lawn. Consequently, if you were planning on wearing heels, it might make sense to think about bringing a pair of flats for walking on the grass.
A note about busses: We have a small chartered bus running between the hotel, the Bellport Methodist Church parking lot (where all wedding parking is happening), and the house, the night of the wedding. The bus will leaving the hotel 4:30 PM and will be running on a loop until 11.
A note about parking : If you're planning on driving, there will unfortunately be NO PARKING on the street near the house due to a Bellport Village Festival. You will however be able to park around the corner at the Bellport Methodist Church, 185 South Country Road. The walk from the church to the house is two loooong blocks, so I urge you to drop your heeled passengers at the house before parking.
One more thing: DRESS CODE! We've been a few questions about what what to wear to the rehearsal drinks, as well as the wedding itself. Here's the low down! The Painters party is fairly casual (I'm thinking nicely cut jeans and button downs for men and cute dresses or rompers for the ladies- just nothing ripped or grungy, please and thank you). Also no Eagles jerseys, specifically if you are the groom. The wedding itself is a summer cocktail affair. Below are a few ideas. (Click the image on the right most corner to scroll.)
